Career test limitations
No career test can tell you the single correct career. A good test helps you narrow options and choose better experiments.
Not a diagnosis or ability test
KnowYourPull is a reflection and exploration tool. It is not a clinical, legal, educational, or employment decision system. It does not measure intelligence, demonstrated skill, disability, mental health, employability, or qualification for a regulated occupation.
Self-report has limits
The result depends on how a person understands each activity and describes current preferences. Mood, limited exposure, social expectations, and unfamiliarity with an activity can shape an answer. Small score differences should not be treated as precise measurement.
Interest fit is only one input
A satisfying career also depends on opportunity, preparation, work setting, coworkers, management, schedule, compensation, geography, health, family responsibilities, discrimination, and economic conditions. A high interest score cannot cancel an unacceptable constraint.
Use results as hypotheses
Career suggestions are paths worth investigating, not endorsements. Check them through real conversations, job shadows, classes, realistic projects, volunteering, and direct review of training and licensing requirements.
Changing over time
Interests and values can change after new work, school, caregiving, illness, financial changes, or exposure to unfamiliar activities. Retaking the assessment can be useful, but repeated testing should not replace gathering real-world evidence.
When to seek additional help
A qualified career counselor, school counselor, vocational rehabilitation professional, financial adviser, healthcare professional, or licensing authority may be appropriate when a decision involves substantial cost, disability accommodation, immigration, safety, health, or regulated eligibility.
